17 Year Anniversary

It is absolutely amazing. I have been married for 17 years. When we got married none of my wife’s or my friends thought that it would last even one year.

They family is rounded out with 2 wonderful children. Girl 11, boy 6.

Unfortunately with the events of the last few days, it was not a good celebration. Maybe next year. But my wife is a very understanding women.

Any day with my wife is a good day.

Life goes on.

Well my wife and I have had the night to get a grasp on everything.

We have a plan. "They" always say to have a plan. For us if I don't get a good job offerwithin a couple of weeks we are going to move. Neither of us like it up here in the DC region.

It was always my long term plan to get out of this area. Getting fired will just let us move south a little sooner. My wife has family just outside of Charleston, SC.

Had to have a laugh. This evening when I checked my email this evening, someone has already emailed asking for me to call. Guess that will have to wait until Monday. Was a little late to call when I got the mail.

FIRED !

The day started of pretty good today. Went in early to get the project done.
We were done around 1230. Everthing seemed to be going fine.

However things went downhill when I got back to the office.

My employer was waiting for me in the office. Told me he was onsite for unpleasent reasons.

Then he handed me a letter of dismissal. 7 months with the company. Then they collected my badge and watched as I emptied out my desk. After that I was escorted out of the building and was told thank you. Good Bye.

When I got home, my wife started to make lunch I told her not to be in any hurry. Then should looked at me and aske if I had quit.

This is how I told her that I was fired.

Spent the rest of the day putting my resume back up on the Net.

Another long day

Spent another 12 hours at work again. Tomorrow should not be as bad. Still need to be in early, however the job should be done sometime mid-day.

Put a pump on the pond. Get some circulation going to help clear the pond and prepare it for the fish.

The Pond Part 9

Long day at work. Was in by 0620 am and did not get home until almost 6 pm.

Put the liner into the hole today. Added the 165 gallons of water. Was kind of surprised the the pond had not settled more. With the soft dirt added to the bottom, I would have thought it would have settled more.

I'll let it sit fot the night and check it tomorrow.

The Pond Part 8

We are so close.

Spent a couple of hours after work putting dirt back into the hole. With all of the rocks I felt we needed a soft underlament. The hole is soft and level.

The Pond Part 7

I had hoped to have the pond done and filled this weekend.

Mother nature decided to slow things down. She decided to rain most of the weekend. No one wants to play in the dirt while it rains.

At least I have a chance to get a break and rest up.

Oh well. I will get it done this week.

At least the hard work is done. No more breaking rocks. It makes me grateful that I wasn't around 100 years ago. Not sure if I would be able to do this all the time.

The Pond Part 6 (Almost done)

I have finally got the hole done.
Rocks: 0 . Monty: 1

Took long enough to get the hole done.

I now have a hole 5 X 4 feet wide, and 32 inchs deep.
That was a lot of ROCK!

Now that the rock is out It is time to add back some soft dirt. I do not want this liner to brake like the last one did.

The Pond Part 5 (The saga continues)

For the couple of days I have had a routine going on…
Go to work for 9 hours.
Work on hole for the pond for 3 hours.
Eat something for a late dinner.
Take a shower.
Crash for the Night.

I can not believe how much rock has come out of that fricken hole.

I just hope the fish like there new home.

My wife called this afternoon. She should be home around midnight.

The Pond Part 4

If I had only known!

This pond has become much more work than I ever expected. I have worked most of the day trying to dig out this hole for the pond. I can not believe how many rocks are in this ground.

I have created 2 piles. One pile for dirt. The other pile is for rocks. The pile of rocks is almost twice as big as the dirt pile. Some of these rocks are over 3 feet long. At least when I am done we will have some nice rocks for decorating.

I am done for the day. The hole is still no where big enough. But I am not going to give up. I have gone this far. I am not going to be beet by a couple of rocks. Of course if I had only known at the beginning I would not have started this in the first place.

Uncle

Wife left this morning to go to her Uncles funeral. Unfortunately I don’t have enough leave time to allow me to go down.

I expect her to be gone till either Wednesday or Thursday. I have enough to keep me busy.

The Pond part 3

The work continues on digging out the whole for the pond. Running into the next big problem for the project. ROCKS!

After about 6 inches down I began running into a lot of large rocks. My wife went out shopping, while out she pick me up a new sledge hammer and a masons chisel. Let’s see how well this works.

Death

Had a death in the family this morning.

My wifes uncle.

He was in bad health condition. Even so my wife took it bad.

We will see what happens.

Pond part 2

Got the new liner. Oh-boy

The Old pond liner was about 50 gallons. Went down to Lowes and picked up the smallest one they had in stock. The new one is 165 Gallons.

That should make the wife and the fish happy. The fish that will be going into it are currently residing in one of my 75 tanks in the house.

Of coarse this means that I will be doing a lot more digging. 175 Gallons may not seem like much, but boy is the hole you have to dig sure is big.

This may be more than one day. I am finding some rocks in the ground and they are slowing me down some.

Fish Pond

This weekend I am going to be buying a new pond liner.

It is a preformed liner. They are easy to put in. When I moved into my house they already had a liner installed, but it was empty. I cleaned the pond out, only to find that it had a hole in it.

Guess I will be doing a little digging Saturday to get the new one to fit. The last on failed because the hole was not prepared correctly.

Brother Update

Thought I should provide an update.

Brother spent 4 days with us. Glad to see him. It had been about 4 years since I had the pleasure. Hope that it won’t be so long the next time, especially since his beautiful wife is pregnant and we ALL will want a chance to see the kid.

After he left us they went down to Charleston, SC to my in-laws. They spent about 5 days with his folks and 2 of his sisters. After that they were heading over to Tennessee to see her grandmother. Then it is back home to California.

With both of us in the Navy, our timing did not always work out. Either he was deployed or I was deployed. That’s what happens when a Sailor marries into a Navy family. My wife, her father, older sister and younger brother all in the Navy. At least we all have a common history.

Of course, it also did not help that he is stationed on the west coast and I was stationed on the east coast. The miles always did create a problem.

I'm back

Sorry for being off for so long.

The cold I was fighting for so long decided to conduct a counter offensive. Have not been that bad in years. First time in twelve years, I had to take 2 days off from work.

You understand that when you don't feel good, you do not have alot to say. Atleast nothing good to say. Afraid if I had felt like writing I probaly would have spewed the worst of thoughts.

Do not worry, cause the rock is now rolling.

I'm Back

Dear Tide

Dear Tide:

I'm writing to say what an excellent product you have! I've used it all through my married life, as my Mom always told me it was the best.

Since I am now in my fifties, I find it even better! In fact, about a month ago, I spilled some red wine on my new white blouse. My inconsiderate and uncaring husband started to berate me about how clumsy I was.

One thing led to another and somehow I ended up with a lot of blood on my white blouse. I tried to get the stain out using a bargain detergent, but it just wouldn't come out. After a quick trip to the supermarket, I purchased a bottle of liquid Tide with bleach alternative, and to my surprise and satisfaction, all of the stains came out!

In fact, the stains came out so well the detectives who came by yesterday told me that the DNA tests on my blouse were negative and then my attorney called and said that I would no longer be considered a suspect in the disappearance of my husband.

What a relief! Going through menopause is bad enough without being a murder suspect! I thank you, once again, for having such a great product.

Well, gotta go. I have to write a letter to the Hefty bag people.
