The Great Falls of the Potomac

I went at to the The Great Falls of the Potomac park to take a look at the falls. They are not so much a large fall, but many after each other.

These are some pictures leading to the falls.

I include the falls later.

This is a side stream of the falls. Notice the picnic table to the left.

The B&O Canal is beside runs next to the Potomac river. This is lock 17. The Locks are made of wood. A lot of water leaks threw.

This is the spill way after the Lock.

Hope that you enjoy,

People Can Not Park

Why is it that so many people can not park.

I went to the store today and this is what I find.

Just how much space does one (1) car need.

One the look out for people that just don't care.

Nikon 70-300 VR

On of my co-workers just got in a new 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor. She is going on a photo shoot vacation in 2 weeks and wanted a better lens.

She brought the lens in today and let try it out today during lunch. Have to say that it is a very nice lens.

Here are a few of the pictures I took today. Was not trying for award shots, but instead was trying to see the limits of the lens.

I want my Nikon D300

I am waiting for my next generation camera. I have put a lot of photos threw my current camera. I plan on replacing it early next year. By then the Nikon D200 will be approaching 3 years.

The Nikon D300 will be out this fall. As soon as it hits the stores, I will have mine on order.

I am currently using a Nikon D50.

DC Walk

At lunch I like walking around DC. Always something to see.
Some of the street players are really good.

POTUS

I went out for a walk today at lunch and saw the local police setting up for the President to go by. I got a couple of pictures as they sped by.

The is the Presidents Limo

This is the Press Van. Notice the camera operator sticking out of the top of the van. He is to record all movements. Not a bad job in the summer, but this is no fun in the winter.

This is the WHCA RoadRunner. It is a communications vehicle that provides secure communications for the President. It is always near the Boss. This is what I use to do a couple of years ago.

Till next time
